HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TATTOO

Healing typically takes about two weeks for an average tattoo.

  • In the first day or so, you may notice some leakage-this is normal, as the tattoo is essentially an open wound in the process of healing.

  • The leakage can include a mixture of dead skin cells, blood, plasma, and excess ink that your body doesn't retain.

Drink plenty of water as it’ll help with healing

-For 2 weeks-

  • Keep your tattoo covered and away from sun exposure.

  • Sunlight can still penetrate through clothing so be mindful and stay out of the sun!

  • Do not swim, soak, or submerge your tattoo in any body of water.

  • For the first three days, ease back into gym activity to allow the body to heal.

  • Avoid scratching, rubbing, or picking at scabs or itchiness.

  • If needed, apply a cold compress to help alleviate itching.

Derm bandages such as Second
Skin or Saniderm:

  • Keep the wrap on for about 5-7 days if possible.

  • Wearing the wrap helps keep the tattoo clean. The infection risk is low.

  • You don't need to perform aftercare on the tattoo until you remove the wrap.

  • Leaving the wrap on prevents your plasma from drying out and forming a scab, which can aid healing and potentially speed it up.

If you notice hives, stinging, redness, or irritation around the wrap, remove it IMMEDIATELY

  • About 1 in 4 people have an adhesive allergy.

  • Reactions may be more pronounced in areas with higher sensitivity or more bending/friction (e.g., inner arms, inner thighs, chest, elbows, or knee folds).

  • Skin reactions typically subside within a few days.

Remove the wrap by peeling it off in the direction of hair growth, during a shower.

  • Wash your tattoo with Unscented Dial soap right after removing the wrap, then fully rinse and air dry.

  • We recommend NOT using any lotion until you’re almost fully healed.

  • If needed, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion once per day.

  • If you've just showered, wait a couple of hours for your skin to dry before applying lotion.

  • DO NOT USE ; Anything scented , body scrubs, petroleum-based ointments

(e.g., NO Aquaphor or Vaseline). They can suffocate the skin and hinder healing.
